Frequently Asked Questions

What Can We Expect Working With You?

From a relationship standpoint, we want to know what's important to you before what's important to your money. Our conversations focus on learning and understanding what these things are. In some cases, you may not even know yet!

After you've become a client, we will have ongoing meetings with you. For the first year, we'll meet with you on a quarterly basis. After the first year, we let our clients choose the pace. At a minimum we ask that you come in once a year or if you've had a change in your circumstances. We're flexible with meeting times and the meeting method. We can meet over the phone, via Zoom, or however it's convenient. Our doors are always open and clients are free to call and email us any time.

Who Do You Work With?

We work with people who are open to advice, and willing to implement it using a plan with a long-term focus. Over the years, we’ve specialized in working with the following groups:

  • Soon to Retire
  • HENRYs
  • Tech Workers
  • Retired
  • Self-Employed
  • Small Companies

See our Who We Serve page for details.

Why Independent?

Being independent allows us freedom in the recommendations and services we’re able to make. Limitations such as only using one platform, selling proprietary funds, and restrictions on who we can work with hinder our ability to give the best advice.

How Are You Paid?

We are a fee-based financial planning firm. Almost all of our compensation is based on a percentage of assets under management. Unlike commission, we do not get paid based on the more products we sell or exchange. Fee-based financial advisors are fiduciaries that can be held legally responsible for their advice.

Do You Have An Investment Minimum?

Our clients generally have $750,000 or more of investable assets or the ability to get there within five years.
